Apparently the Schuster plug for the Garand is verboten for Canadians anymore, Brownell's can't fcuking ship it up here, at least the Mccann plug is shippable to us, *at least according to the voice on the phone at Brownell's hmm, - I can only see this situation getting fcuking worse, as that fat fcuking cow is in power down at the state dept.

The State Department requires all firearm & parts manufacturers to register with them if they want their products exported- even if they don't export themselves. So a 3rd party exporter e g Brownells, whomever, has to ensure that the manufacturer is registered with the State dept. Put yourself in their shoes - if you were a US manufacturer with any sense of patriotism would you want to export To Canada given who we're letting in and tolerating? Would you sell a state of the art sniper rifle to the Canadian cousin of a Taliban jihadist knowing it would likely wind up being used against our boys and gals over in Afghanistan? I for one wouldn't.

I have one and I have never used it......I'd rather tailor my loads then mess with a silly plug. I guess I should probably try it sometime and see if it will help tune for accuracy.

Yes, I totally see your point, I guess we should consider ourselves lucky we can still get a .30/30 after what Teddy allegedly said about them - Clinton makes no bones about her sentiment about Canada, imo she is going to be a nightmare for Canada, but maybe the idiotic useful idiot Canadian socialists will start to get it, but I doubt it, I am well thankful I can get the Mc cann plug, you see I am starting to get set up for reloading, (the Dems can't touch our access to reloading equipment . . . right?). - might be a good time to start shooting smallbore for the duration. . :D

Well I got it on the way, I expect to rcv it sometime next week now with all the delays , I have some Winchester 150 gn Power Point, just to see, should be a bit of fun setting it up; another excuse to get out to the range anyways - might be a good idea to get another one with the way things are going.

Seems to me that if the Yanks won't honour free trade agreements with Canada we should suggest we might have to pull out of Afghanistan sooner. Either we are allies or not.

Just got my McCann to the range yesterday. It has 5 gas jets, I started out with the largest hole, and finally I got it to cycle reliable at the smallest jet. I was using my favorite .30-06 Sprng round (cheapest & most "mil-spec" like in apperance) Remington UMC 150 gr. MC (FMJ-BT) at 2,910 fps I think. Rifle is a 2002 Springfield Armory Inc. M1 Garand

Well, I just returned from the range, I used the Winchester Power Point 150 grain soft point, specs on it are: 2920 fps muzzle velocity, anyways, it functioned quite well, I had to go to the 3rd largest jet to get it to function properly without the occasional failure to feed, but I brought 80 rounds and ran out before I could test it out more, otherwise the rifle ran like clockwork and was very accurate, much more so than I could hold, I got some 3" groups with 5 rounds (100 yards) with some flyers opening it up a bit. once I got the point of aim down * it was a little low, I was able to make solid hits on the excavator teeth * I guess I'd damn well better eh? lol! (100 yards) ;)
