Hello,
I have a Browning 1885 High Wall Traditional Hunter that misfires. :( The hammer falls, but gets caught and does not make it to the firing pin. Any of you experts on the high wall have an idea what the problem is. The action has been taken apart and looked at without indication of root cause. Had it working for a short time, but now it won't work at all. Or can anyone recommend a good 'smith who is familiar with these '85's and can repair it. If it was an old Winchester original this probably wouldn't be happening! Thanks for looking.

A very weird trigger design is the problem. I have tried and tried and I have given up. I won't even attempt to correct that problem anymore. It has to do with the trigger adjustments and possibly if you had the factory specs to go by and if no one had screwed it up or lost parts, you could fix it...

I tell the customer to take it to a Browning Warranty Repair Center and have them fix it, and then take it back to them if it still has a problem... sorry...:(
