My gun is a 7MM Rem Map that shots 1/2 " groups whent he trigger works. It is not a great trigger on the bench but seems to work but on my last couple of sheep hunts the trgger freezes and the hammer won't ####. I took great care on this years trip with a cover that went from above the front sling down over the scope and trigger etc. and it kept it snow free. It still got sticky a couple of days. I could polish everything up inside and that may help but would prefer to put in a better trigger. Does anyone know of any triggers that will work. Thanks Brian

I'd send it to a good gunsmith that knows 1885's ( Ron Smith is one) and have him go over it.
I have a mess of them and have no problems, except when I tried to change stocks once.
There is a tab that moves just behind the hammer that some stocks need modifying for or the trigger won't trip the hammer!

Have you tried adjusting the little slotted screw behind the trigger? If you lighten up the trigger pull too much it will create the situation that you are describing. Maybe try increasing the weight a little bit.
