and they're not user friendly for adjustments, so I'm looking for suggestions on what to do.

I'm thinking of marking the rear and front so i can line them up better, but not sure what I would use. nail polish? wax crayon? tape? whiteout?

anything you can recommend to help me line it up better would be appreciated.

that said, this is my first pistol and I do not recall reading what the factory sights are ranged for. is there a default for that? 15ft? 20ft? 25ft?

thanks! :D

The GI sights on the full size military 1911's were not easy to use and scaled down to 85% they are even worse.
Maybe a spot of white-out on the front sight would help,I am not going to alter mine because I find after a lot of practice that my groups are tightening up.

I had one very briefly [ was a impulse purchase around Christmas last year]. Never did shoot it. Just found it was (1) too small for my liking and (2) too light, it felt like a toy. So, I sold it on the EE to someone else who could appreciate it. Haven't received any feedback whether he's shot it yet or not, though.

NAA.

As an experiment I will take a chrono up to the range and clock the .22LR coming out of the Browning and compare it to a Beretta Mod. 70 with a 5-1/4 inch barrel then a rifle. The velocity I imagine would determine what range the gun sights are set up for.
As NAA indicated these little 1911's are like a toy, maybe that is why I really like playing with it (carefully of course).
The first few trips to the range were kind of disappointing in terms of groups, they were about 12 inches @ 10 meters so after that I tried every thing that I could think of to improve the groups and now I can usually put them all in a 3 inch circle. Haven't tried it from sandbags..maybe next time through the chrono.

Any availability of aftermarket sights for this thing yet? The sights are what is holding me back from getting one.

I have one of these and I really like it. The sights definitely aren't target sights, but it's not a target pistol. A little whiteout or orange model paint on the front sight might help.
