I am wondering if somebody can help me date a Hi-Power with a Serial Number "B073 _ _ , that is the letter "B" followed by 5 numbers, the last 2 digits are off the record.
Are you able to tell me if this is wartime manufacture?

Sorry not knowledgeable as far as the Hi Powers go. I have not seen it yet but it's supposed to be in very good original shape (60% finish). It's available for $850. Based on the very "limited info" provided, is it even remotely possible to say this is a fair price?

Sorry no pictures available

From my old notes from some years ago when I was trying to date my 'a' block HP.

".... 'a' block was made in 1943 and the 60k+ "b" block was made in 1944 up to when the germans abondoned the factory in in late aug 1944.

Well I got some pictures sent to me......a post war gun according to the capital "B" I guess but I thought I would still share the pictures anyway. As well does not look like a wartime finish gun, too pretty but still a nice piece.....what's the going rate for something like this?IMG_2869.jpgIMG_2872.jpgIMG_2870.jpgIMG_2873.jpg
Sorry for the up side down pictures.....I turned them right side up before posting them but .......not sure what happened?

I'm new at this posting pictures business!!!!

External extractor, hammer style and font on the slide would indicate to me early/mid 70s production, but I'm only an aficionado - not an expert, can't say I've ever quite seen that "B" in front of the serial in that style before.
Nice gun, poor pictures but it looks like its in pretty nice shape - they were well made back then!
Value? I'd say 6-800?

If It starts with a B then it is a clone made by FEG and not a true Browning Hi-Power I have 2 of them....and some real ones......

Pretty sure that is not a FEG - unless FEG at some point knew how to do a nice polished blue, then somehow forgot. Also, the FEGs I've seen were not stamped "FN Herstal Belgique" and none of the FEGs I've seen had machining as clean as FN's. Also looks like a Belgian proof on the edge of the chamber. Looks like it may be a European commercial or police model to me.
