Rifle Basix sells a spring that can be installed on a-bolts to lighten pull. Has anyone used one of these or otherwise upgraded an a-bolt trigger ?

Just wondering what other people did to improve the trigger.

Thanks

I have a Timney trigger spring on my A bolt Eclipse, worked well, I'd like to have it lighter yet though. Easy to install and pretty cheap, came with two springs in the kit.
I was looking at the moyersgunrepair trigger for the a bolt as well. It's more money so I tried the Timney springs first.

i used the timney trigger spring as well. the lightest in the kit. better pull but too much creep. if i keep the rifle long term a trigger change out will be required.

I'm not a huge fan of light trigger pulls on hunting rifles because I generally hunt in cold or very cold temperatures. The combination of numb fingers and a light trigger gives less perceived control over the trigger break. Even when my fingers are good and cold I can feel a 4lb or 5lb trigger distinctly which I feel gives a sensation more like shooting a light trigger in the summer.

That said, the trigger on my ABolt is pretty good though I haven't got a ton of trigger time on it despite owning it for 12 years. Must rectify that.

Typically what kind of accuracy do your abolts give you guys ? And are those BOSS systems gimmick or do they work ?

i have owned a few over the years. currently only one in 325. still working on loads but its quite accurate. trying to find the magic high velocity/ accurate load. all but one in 308 have been good. that 308 was terribly fussy and if wanting 1 inch or less would only do it with 150sst's. all others were easy to load with. my buddy has a 7 08 with boss and it works but takes a long time to tune. i would rather tune my loads to the rifle than tune thre rifle to a specific load. the boss would be good if you wern't a reloader as you could buy whatever factory load you wanted the tune the boss so it shot well.

"...a trigger change out will be required..." You don't need to if the trigger job is done correctly. Takes more than just changing the springs.

and how would you adjust the trigger . i'm used to rems and the triggers are very good. i have had smiths set up a bolt triggers and still arn't great.
