Browning auto 22

I have a friend trying to sell me this unit and i wondered about value.

It is a japanese made (1977) grade 1 unit with a few dings. What is the approx. value of this bad boy?

Also, I noticed that the barrel doesn't lock properly and it looks like the barrel lock maybe hooped. Is this an easy fix? Obvioulsy this will impact on the price. Any info would be appreciated.

Used Browning .22's go for around $400. I would take it to a gunsmith and get an estimate on fixing the barrel lock, and deduct that from the price, or get your buddy to fix it as a condition of sale.

Are you maybe starting from the wrong side? I have an old Rem look alike. Maybe post a pick. Most used Brownings auto TD's I seen sell $550-$600.
