Hi,

I have heard that the auto 5 is hard to disassemble. I have an a5 mag coming for christmas and i know that when i get it I am going to want to pick at it. Would anyone run me through a step by step disassembly of the gun. I do not want to just jump into it and end up doing something stupid and hurting the gun. Is there anywhere online that has something like i am lookin for? with pictures perferably. Also if any membershave done this before and have any hints or tips to need it would be greatly appreachated.

thanks

Don't do it. First of all, you need perfectly fitting screwdrivers to remove those exposed screws, which are blued and polished. You will be very nervous as you start turning them, hoping to God you don't slip and gouge that beautiful polished finish on the receiver. For all you need to do to clean it, you don't need to disassemble anything in the receiver. Simply hose it out with brake cleaner, being careful to do it outside and don't spray it on the wood finish. I've described this better elsewhere. If the breachblock is really having difficulty returning, then consider removing the butt so that you can clean out the return spring. Oil lightly when done. Brake cleaner removes ALL oil and grease so it will need to be done well.
