I am thinking about picking up a browning mag 20. How light of loads would it be able to cycle? I know id have to switch the rings around but how light of shot can you go until reliability starts to suffer? also the same question for the mag 12?
 
The mag 20 will shoot 1 oz 20ga loads reliably when set up right. The mag 12 will shoot 1 1/4 oz 12 ga loads when set up right. Some guns are different but generally these fugures are close. The goal is to have the gun on the heaviest setting that it reliably shoots your chosen load. Hope this helps.

thats great ha how much would a mag 12 be worth? id rather find a never one with interchangable chokes how hard are these to find?
 
id also like to have a mag 20 for rabbits and ptarmigan but i like the 3" option incase i see a duck how much would that be worth?
