Hey im new on this site and i am just trying to gain some info on the browning bar 308. if anyone owns one or has shot one i would be interested to here the feedback.

I also have one in a left handed version. I love it. Very accurate for a semi. My go to deer gun; easy to carry in the bush and a pleasure to shoot as recoil is all but non existent.

Just installed a scope and sighted in my neighbours BAR in 30-06 very nice rifle now if I can just get him to shoot it a bit before he hunts I'd be happy.

As a first rifle I would not recommend any semi-auto get a good bolt action far safer to learn on.

My first hunting rifle for deer was a Browning Bar Safari in 270 cal. Loved it.
I just bought a Browning Bar Safari in 243 for the better half. Its her first time out!! If you reload you can get 3 shot groups down to 1/2 inch at 100 yards, shooting from a bench rest. Using factory Winchester supreme ammo its still under an inch. Plain winchester white box ammo groups are over an inch. I haven't met anyone who regreted buying a Browning Bar.
I would love one in 308!
