I bought a new used Browning semi-auto 7mm Rem. Mag last year, made in Belgium in 1972.
I have shot and cleaned it for the 1st time....I have a copy of the manual, however there is no reference on how to remove the trigger assembly. Can someone please assist. Thank you, Al

To remove the trigger assembly, take off the buttstock. Most magnums have a recoil pad, so look for the slits cut in the pad. Under there are screws, phillips or slotted. I usually take out the bottom (toe) screw and loosen the heel screw. Inside you will see the stock bolt, lefty loosy. Buttstock has to come off, to gain access to the stock escutcheon. This piece of aluminum (escutcheon) rides in a slot and has to be either moved forward in line with the receiver or removed (on some fortunate ones). If you can not remove the escutcheon from the receiver, you will have to compress the hammer as you move the trigger assembly to the rear, as it may not clear the escutcheon. Clean the removed trigger assembly as best you can without taking it apart. The replacement of these springs and plungers is not for the faint of heart and will fly with force.

The previous jnstructions are dead on.Just remember that the trigger assembly has to be in the (FIRED POSITION).or you will not be able to re-insert the trigger assembly, then clean the trigger assembly. The instructions from Browning that I posses, say to stop dissassembly at this point unless you are a gunsmith.
