Hey sorry about that I was off yesterday. We sadly can not get those BAR with the detachable box mag. I contacted our Browning rep late last year and he said that they are putting a pause on making anymore BAR's for the next couple of years. The DBM model is not listed on the Browning Canada's dealer portal either. It also doesn't help how the government is banning almost every semi auto gun in Canada so it might be a few years until we see them back in Canada.

As far as the browning sporting baris concerned it is a non- restricted firearm. Have not seen it on any list. Also, check for bars period and the only bar is ww1 and 2 military bars.

Well that sucks to hear. I'd like to think the Canadian demand for a NR semiauto 308 could be easily fulfilled by Browning, if they made the MK3 DBM with a slightly longer barrel. But if they're pausing BAR production across the board for literal years? Sounds like prospective semiauto 308 buyers are hopeless, unless they wish to forfeight money gambling on a Turkish lemon
Because a semiauto centerfire requires an 18.5+" barrel to be Non-Restricted, everyone knows this. And the BAR MK3 DBM has only an 18" barrel.
The newly released MK4 DBM, however, is listed on Browning's website as having an 18.5" length barrel. Whether we'll see them here or not remains to be seen as they take the same MK3 DBM/FNAR magazine, and I'd hope to hear about whether they will or won't for certain.
They made a hog stalker model with a 20’inch barrel. You can import one if you can find it used in the US.
I found a Synthetic lightwieght
BAR 308 with a 20" barrel.
Years ago a ordered the Hog stalker.
Recieved it from Willians Arms.
Back when John went to the shot show in vegas. Myself and two friends of mine all ordered 1 each.
John came through. The hog stalker was 10 + lbs so i sold it..
My mistake. My one buddy still has his super accurate.
