Browning BBR Stock "?"

Hello out there,

I just picked up a Browning BBR this year that was a 7mm Rem Mag and currently Dr.Guntech is transforming it into a 340 Weatherby for me (Thank You Guntech).

I know that the BBR was a bit heavy already, and having a longer barrel installed will bring up the weight factor, but I am in the hunt for a composite stock to lose some of the weight and for weather purposes also.

I also heard that a person could use a short action BBR stock with some mods; open up the action housing and cut down the aluminum rail in the front to accommodate the larger action housing and reposition the front mounting screw hole, and do some hollowing of the butt. With all the gutting of the short action stock it only make sense that the stock would loose some weight. I do not think that this will compromise the strength of the stock in a way that it would be unsafe.
(sounds like a job for a Drill, a Dremel, a router, and some sand paper)
I like my sheep hunts and to lose some weight for those mountains would be great.

Does anyone have any other info on the short action stock idea? as well as any info on where a person can hopefully find a composite stock for this application?

Thanks,
Brian
