Browning BL-22

I have a browning BL-22 that has develped a problem of not fully closing, it looks like it is ready to fire but I have to squeeze the lever a small amount in order to get the hammer to fall, what could be the problem, thanks.

Probably needs a good cleaning.

+1 on that. May be a little brass shaving or other compressible crud that is stoping the bolt from locking up until pressue is applied to the lever.
