hello out there i am looking at buying a williams fp gr peep sight for my 22 does any one have any experience with these and do i need to replace the front sight as well any help is greatly apppreciated thank you
If you go with the one that uses the dovetail you will need to get a much higher front sight I think. I have been toying with getting a receiver sight for my bl-22 but I would like one where the aperture is on the bottom of the arm. Only problem with that is that I would then have to get the receiver drilled and tapped, and I'm hesitant to do so. Might just end up doing so anyway though.
i bought that sight today clamped it on and its right on which is good because its down all the way i like it much better than the factory sights its the low line of sight model. the other one i think ill also order is a new england custom gun one available at brownels.com but ill try and source it in canada. it also clamps on to the dove tail. its alot smaller so you can use a scabbard easily.
You'll have to post pics! so you went with the Williams fp, with a low line of sight model? Do you have the part number? I'm going to look it up. If you don't have to change the front sight, that's great.
i shot it more today and at 25 yards or closer the point of impact is touching the top of the sight perfectly and out further i just bearly cover the target with the top of the front sight. it is a model fp-gr and i got it from western gun parts for 89 dollars. they also had the dove tail plug too if youre looking to hunt with it i picked up a voodoo tactical scabbard for a remington 870 and it has a sling on it so you can carry it easily and it fits good
