I agree it is dreadfully ugly but think about places where you can hunt hogs at night and there might be some purpose to all the rails (e.g. NVG / illumination).

I don't usually think of a lever action for this type of shooting but I suppose it could do the job if for some reason an AR10 or similar wasn't feasible.

That would be one reason. Do we even have hog hunting in Canada like in the U.S.? Do we have night hog hunting? No? Then probably we don't need the rails & flash hider, the rest of it might be OK.
