Hi,
Just purchased a new browning blr takedown 81 lightweigt and then realized there was no sling swivel on the gun ... Did anyone find a solution to that? I cant find anywhere a swivel that would work for this gun.

My 358 wasn't factory-equipped with sling swivel studs either so it was a DIY project using an Uncle Mike's product having the proper screw lengths.

Example only, your required screw lengths might vary: http://www.unclemikes.com/products/accessories/parts-and-accessories/magnum-band-swivel-screws-115-rgs

Uncle Mike's works great, have used their products quite a few times. Word to the wise... measure thrice, then drill your pilot hole... cause when its a bit off... it will bother you forever.

The equipment required consists of a drill press...or a steady careful hand holding a drill...no need to make this complicated.

The old original BLR's had a funny, useless little metal bobbin at the front of the fore-arm, and Uncle Mike's had a specific kit that allowed you to install the front swivel there. The current guns just require two wood-screw style swivels, installed in appropriate locations front and rear. You can also use a barrel-band front swivel; I have one on mine and like it better than the drilled-front type. In any case, you don't need to locate/pay/wait for a gunsmith. Like IAFS said above: take your time and measure carefully.
