Browning BPR - What happened to it?

I have a 243 safe queen, it is smooth to operate and balances nicely, the way it pumps is different and I think that is why it didn't sell. My friends laugh at it. I believe they were only marketed in north america for two years. They are still availiable in europe.

As you slide the pump back it angles down at the back of the pump, so you're pumping back and down. I found it very awkward. Also (and it's been a while) as I recall because of the space created on the back-pump, it's easy to pinch fingers.
IMO one of Brownings few failures.

A guy at my camp has one in 3006. Interesting gun. Ive fondled it a bit but never shot it.

The pump angles down slightly to clear the reciever when operated. Not like anything else. Heres a vid I found on youtube. You can get the idea here
