Wondering what the value of one of these is? It has the DU hard case, manuals, chokes and less than 50 shells through it. Nice walnut stock and engraving on receiver.
Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Unless you can find a huge DU collector it's is valued as Used standard BPS 10 gauge.

So many come on here thinking their auction guns are worth money and they aren't. They are fundraiser guns to suck money out of patrons at the dinners. Thats it.

It is worth whatever a used 10 ga. BPS of the same grade and condition would be. DU guns do not bring any more $$ because of DU stamped on them. They might if they had stuck to very limited runs of guns each year but they punched them out by the thousands to raise funds at DU events. If they were uncommon or extremely limited then they would fetch $$. I lucked out several years ago selling the BPS DU 10 I owned for $950 but it took a long time to find the right guy who just had to have a DU 10ga. BPS.

I had 13 new in box DU guns in my collection at one time, many of which dated back to the late 70's and 80's and dispite the fact they were mint unfired with original boxes the only one I can honestly say was worth keeping as far as collector value when I sold 11 of them was the super x1 and it was the only one I regret now selling
The rest sold for what an equivalent non du gun would have on the EE dispite the fact most had some of the nicest wood one would ever see on a shotgun
Cheers

The best venue for selling ‘Limited Edition’ (ooh la la) stuff is an auction; hope a couple of buyers get that auction fever. Now you might have to pay out 20% commission to the house, so it's no guarantee of huge profits, but most of these guns were originally bought at fund-raising auctions, so that should tell you something.

If you post ten mass-produced Winchester 94 commemorative whatevers on the EE, it gluts the market. For some reason a gun auction with twenty of them will have the same bunch of guys bidding up every one.

I'd rather a plain gun over a du stamped gun. To me it lessens the value

I understand the sentiment, but I think that's a bit drastic. You may not be willing to over-pay, and sure, a gun that's ‘too nice’ can be a source of trepidation when it comes to taking it in the field and scratching it up. But I would gladly take an equivalent fancy edition over a standard grade *at the same price*, nearly any time I'm shopping for another gun. Whether I will pay a premium, depends on the particular gun, and how I feel at the time.

Ducks Unlimited also does good work, so even if your second-hand purchase isn't supporting them, at least you're promoting the brand.

I meant the standard version same grade over a du stamped gun. Sorry for the misinterpreted "Plain Version" and I agree some times it's hard to hunt with a pretty gun but I do. If i had a Ferrari I'd drive it to.
As for du the organization does buy back land and convert it back to wetlands yes but in my area that land always becomes a non hunting area except for their high end clients. The land is never properly managed and majority of the few ducks that do nest in their lands in my area the coons and skunks get their eggs. I used to be a proud supporter of ducks unlimited and went thru the green wing program for many years. Now that I've seen how the organization pisses on hunters in my area I couldn't give them the time of day
Sorry for the off topic
However that is not the reason I'd pay less for a limited gun of that nature. I feel the same about the Winchester 94s that have have a limited edition for just about everything. The standard plain brass and wood looks better then the brass inlets and stampings. Just a personal thing but i've heard many others pick up a gun at a show and say the same. But I've seen ppl for $1200 for a fired un boxed 94 cheyanne edition. Pretty sure I spelled that wrong

It is apples and oranges comparing a DU gun to a winchester. Example
The Winchester Model 94 Cheyenne Commemorative was offered in 1977.The were 11,220 made and it originally sold for $375. The current value of that gun is $1,295 for New in the Box.
You will never see that kind of return on any DU gun not even close
Cheers

Yep and kicked my ass ever since :(
It was a time in my life when the old collection was getting downsized and fast. I didnot think I had too much time left nor did my doc at the time but so far beating the studies and two years is almost 11 and counting :)
Cheers

I sold my BPS DU 10 ga for just under $1000 new in box. That was quite a few years ago, when that model just came out. I won it at a DU raffle, didn't want to shoot it. It did have some very nice wood.
