Yes you are right ,I jumped the gun a bit on the BPS.All the older versions have been discontinued ,but a new version is listed in fewer versions. There are changes to this new version ,that make it look much different than the old version.

The Gold however is gone.No 10 gauge Browning self loading guns at this time.:(

At $450-$500/flat for 10ga ammo nowadays I have no regrets having sold my Gold 10's... I had the first gen blued steel and walnut stock versions. They were much easier on the shoulder at a full pound heavier than the synthetic and alloy models. I traded with a fellow one morning for a hunt and he was of the same opinion and darned near begged me to sell him mine.

When I purchased my Maxus Wicked Wings Bronze Edition, a few years ago, they had a Gold on sale for $1199. I was tempted, but when I looked up the price of 10 gauge loads, I went with the Maxus .

I don't mind the recoil of the Gold light 10 at all. I don't really notice the difference from a 3.5” 12g. To me, the recoil of a 12g seems sharper and the 10g seems like more of a shove. Stands to reason for a gun that weighs a few pounds more.

Thats a crazy low price. The Gold 10’s are $2500 now.

The regular price was $2199. I paid $1299 for the Maxus Wicked Wings Bronze Edition, which was regularly $2299. A new store manager/owner took over at a nearby Canadian Tire, and he liquidated the entire Browning firearms inventory at 35-60% off.

Fortunately I have what will likely be a lifetime supply of 10g ammo and the ammo I had to pay for cost me less then what one would pay for 12g 3” steel loads. I scored some great deals on ammo at Bass Pro, Cabelas and Lebaron when they went out of business. Then I got about 20 boxes of various waterfowl ammo for free from a lovely lady who no longer wanted to shoot a 10g. In all, I have about 5 flats of steel and about half a flat of lead. I don't shoot my 10g enough to likely ever finish all this ammo so I’m happy about that.

Thats nuts. I would have bought every Browning they had in stock.

When I got there, they had two Maxus left, one Gold, and two A5 shotguns, and a few rifles. I had the clerk open the case, and hand me one Maxus , and I spent the next 15 minutes on the phone calling friends, to see if they wanted any of the other shotguns. I was only there to try and buy a Silver for a friend, but they had sold out already, and the friend didn't want to spend $1299, so I bought the Maxus for myself, and sold him my backup SX-3. Another friend was in the next day, and they still had the Gold and one A5.

Thats awesome! I wish I stumble upon a deal like that one day.

Pure fluke , a friend was in the store, saw the prices and called me. I jumped in the truck, and headed straight over, to the next town 40km away. Several years before that I saw Beretta demos advertised on the Accuracy Plus advertisement in the Gunrunner . I called and the camo models were sold, but I bought a black A400, and an A400 Unico for $950, and $1050. Apparently, they were used at a dealer day at a local clays facility, they looked new.

You can leave a note in your will to ship any unused ammo to me lol

Funny thing is that I just updated my will but any firearm related assets are intentionally left out. Since wills become public knowledge during the probate process, I chose to keep all that info private. My executor will be left with an amendment that includes detailed information and clear instructions on what to do with my firearms and ammo. Everything but the restricted firearms have already found a home.

I regret to inform you that at this time, you are not included in those instructions. But you never know what the future holds…..haha
