Here is a guide to help service the best pump action shotgun ever made!

Information on how to disassemble and reassemble the BPS is hard to find so I hope this helps :)

Once you do it a few times cleaning it is no problem at all.

Here is the receiver:

Start by pushing the two pins out of the receiver.

Put a piece of tape on either side of the receiver.

Locate the action bars.

Brace both of the bars with your fingers or thumb.

Pull the trigger group up while still holding the action bars tight.

Here are the notches in the action bars that connect with the trigger group - mark the tape on either side of the receiver.

Once marked you can let the action bars fall out. They only fit in one way so don't worry about mixing them up. You can now spray the inside and clean everything out.

Here is a closer look at the trigger group.

There is a half moon pin that rotates on the front of the trigger group. Rotate it so that it is the same as in the picture.

To put everything back together - Put the action bars back in and line them up with the marks on the masking tape. Slide the trigger group back into the receiver. In the picture you can see the flat side of the half moon pin should be facing upwards.

Line up the pin in the trigger group with the marks on the tape.

If everything is lined up properly the trigger should slide right down.

Line up the pins and put them back into the receiver.

Clean and ready to go :D

I've never used the tape idea myself, but yes.. it might help some poeple as it can be a bit tricky to get the trigger group back in. Good job.

Very nice and easy to follow. I have one of these guns. Looks like yours has a lot of good memories in it.

Thanks. I like having a shotgun that is older than I am - and will probably outlive me! They are built so strong and I love the bottom eject and tang safety. They really don't need to be cleaned that often but it's good to know how if the need arises. This one is my waterfowl shotgun and sees some rough conditions!
