Browning BPS How you you clean the tubular mag??

The spring and follower in the magazine on my Browning BPS 12 gauge is sticking. I removed the cap and plug but the spring didn't pop out.
Assuming I can remove it, do I simply use a little gun oil for lubrication.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I usually use a boresnake with a piece of paper towel threaded through the loop at the "tail", but there's no reason you can't use a regular cleaning rod if you strip it down far enough.
