Hi.
I'm hoping someone can offer suggestions to remedy an issue with my 25 yr old BPS 12g.
I cleaned it thoroughly today and still had the issue once out of 3 times tried.
When I cycle a round out of the chamber (whether fired or not) it sometimes drops the round that has popped out of the magazine, out of the gun. (bottom ejector) to the ground.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

There is a fork that is forced down when the action is cycled. It throws the spent cartridge out and then cups the unfired cartidge up to where the action can chamber it.

When you cleaned it, did you notice any wear on the end above where this fork is pinned through the receiver?

It sounds like somehow the timing of your action is off, and this is one of the only ways I see it as possible.

There is two cartridge stops one on each side of the receiver on of them is likely bent . The Fork / cartridge lift has nothing to do with feeding the live round coming out of the mag tube it only lifts the cartridge . I.m not sure which one stops on the back stroke cycle with rounds and watch which one is not working properly Also if your BPS is old enough there is a lever on the mag tube which will cut off the shells from leaving the mag tube make sure it is fully disengaged.
