browning bps trap

I've never shot one, but try reading this.

One guy mentions not being able to drop a shell straight into the receiver on a Browning, but I've held one and noticed they have a magazine interrupt switch for when you want to bypass the magazine tube.

I'm lefthanded and bought a Browning BPS twice (I foolishly traded my first one.) They are a lot of fun to shoot skeet with.

has anyone used the Browning BPS Trap model. how did it work for you.

I am looking into buying one.
Bearhunter, buy one, you will never be disappointed. I have 20ga upland with 22" barrel and pistol grip, and lately I am using it for everything! Great quality, price, build like a tank and smooth as silk. Whats not to like?

I bought a BPS trap recently, and i'm fairly new to the sport. it's great so far and treats me well, my buddy's 870 kicks rather hard but the bps is so smooth!

the feeding is a little bit cumbersome compared to side load pump actions but it's quick to get used to and isn't much different afterwards.

To the best of my knowledge the early Browning BPS shotguns had the magazine interupt switch but the later ones do not.

The Browning BPS and Ithaca Model 37 are good shotguns for left handed shooters as the spent shells eject out the bottom of the reciever.

Hi BH,
I've had one for about 10 years and really like it. I'll shoot about 30 rounds a year, so not a real trap nut.
I had a 99BT and found, for me, the 99 pointed too high. The BPS seems to shoulder better, closer to a hunting gun, again for me.
The gun for me me is ace, worth every penny.
Works flawlessly and being a gold trigger keeps high resale if I ever wanted to sell it.
I'm a lefty so the bottom feed works fine.
You won't regret the purchase, and as with every Browning you get bragging rights!!

I have a new BPS Trap and it has the magazine cut off which, when on the single mode, allows you to insert a round directly into the chamber without the ejection tabs (or whatever they are called) dropping and forcing you to insert a round into the magazine first, from the racked position. You then simply slide the forestock forward and you are ready to go. You can sense where the chamber is and after a few times and don't have to look when inserting a new round. It becomes very simple to do. Before I caught on to it I was inverting the gun to put in a round and after 25 times it becomes tiresome. (Not real bright, I guess)

The hunter model does not have this feature. I like it so much I sold my XT Trap. Since you asked..... I recommend it!
