I bought this Browning BPS Trap a few weeks ago and although it was advertised with a 30" barrel It only has a 28"barrel. I asked the dealer if it was a 30" barrel and he said yes. I had also asked if he had the gun for a while because the last time I was in the shop he had one then (1.5 years ago) his answer was that he has sold several of these particular guns. I brought the gun home and just put it away. A few days later pulled it out and and looking the gun over that was when Idiscovered the 28" barrel. I thought the stock was a bit short for me before I purchased it but thought that putting spacers or an adjustable but pad on could correct this easily. When I investigated further and read the box end and checked the Browning web site this is a micro trap with a 13.75" length of pull made in 2007. Not checking the Barrel stamp in the shop before purchasing was my fault. Shot it for a couple rounds of trap the other night and I am happy with the way the gun shot, just different aiming point than the 870 express I have been using for three years.

Should I be ticked off for being told and the gun being advertised with a 30" barrel and only having a28" barrel. I'll admit that I didn't check the gun out well enough before purchase and as for the stock length I was planning on dealing with that already.

I paid $550 for this gun so I am going to see what I con do to get the stock to fit me better and hopefully the scores will incease.

Also can anyone tell me If it is Phillps head screws that hold the recoil pad on
Thanks

YES you should be tricked off for being lied to!

As for the recoil pad screws, most are indeed Phillips. Make sure to lube your screwdriver (Armour All, silicone spray etc.).

i would go back and explain to him that the reason why you asked about it being 30 inches, is because you could have bought a 28 inch for 100 dollars less... and see what he does. just might get some cash back to buy shells =D.
