Who shoots a Buck Mark and why?

I did a lot of surfing before taking advantage of the Boxing Day sales to acquire a Browning UDX in SS. Why? Too many negative comments on the Rugers, especially with regard to take down and assembly.

The UDX model has a slightly curved back strap and finger grooves machined into the alloy frame. It is said to be the smallest of the grip styles offered on the Buck Mark.

Looking forward to it's arrival next week!

I shoot a 1990s Buckmark. Adjustable sights, full length rail, great trigger with a wide blade, easy to clean.. It is way better than my Ruger I owned.

It came with hooded sights, and target grips. But I just put regular grips on it, since I broke my wood grips.

And it is GOLD

Keep the bolt internals clean & have spares.

Plastic internals on any firearm should be against any law.

Enjoy it for what it is!!

"Tis the reason that I have a 1/2 dozen Ruger MkI's & MkII's.

And I do not have an issue positioning the hammer strut during re-assembly.

I have a plain Camper model and like it a lot.
Had a few Mk2's ant they were great but this one feels better in my hand and I like the mag and slide release better on a Buckmark.

I own one because it’s great light weight loaner pistol, easy to shoot iron sights and a red dot if need be. As well, the factory trigger is decent and the Hegis flip really improves it or you can buy the Tandem cross products.

Overall it’s a great pistol, with limited accessories/tuning parts vs Ruger. Less is more for me so I don’t end up with a 1200$ Ruger MK4.

I love my URX stainless. I did the Hegis flip, removed the mag safety and added an extended mag release. I purchased a spare buffer but I haven't needed it yet.

So, CZ SP01 have a plastic guide rod, and mine has 10,000rds rounds thru it, without issues. I'm sure my Buckmark has 2x the amount thru it..

Most of the CZ Shadow owners I know are quite happy with the poly guide rod and they shoot 100-200 rds per week, more before a qualifier. I replaced them in my wife's Shadows as I agree - plastic parts offend me. But generally, if'n it ain't broke - don't fix it!

As for the buffer, apparently the newest ones are very long lasting. If not, easily and cheaply replaced. If it lasts 10,000 rds before replacement, I'm happy.

I will remove the mag safety which is said to have a beneficial effect on trigger pull as it does on a Hi-Power. The "Hegis Flip" if necessary.

Love my Hunter model. Accurate, fun to shoot. A lot less expensive than Ruger models and comes with a better stock trigger than the newer Rugers. Be wary of the Hegis flip. It worked on one model I had but not the Hunter model. Having said that, the Hunter model shoots just fine with the stock trigger. Enjoy!!

I have 2 of them, one is mine and the other is the wife's. No complaints they work well, just two of a bunch of 22's we own.

I don't shoot or own a Buckmark, but when I'm asked which pistol to start with it always makes the short-list along with the Ruger Mk series & S&W 17/617. No flies on any of them. Older Rugers were more difficult to disassemble than the Buckmark, but I would argue the new MkIV has the Buckmark beat for that. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter because you don't need to break them down very often. I will say the Buckmark trigger in stock form is better than any of the Rugers.

Congrats on the new gun. It should serve you well.

I have about 40,000 rounds through my Shadow with the OEM plastic guide rod. I see no reason to change it. :)

My wife has a Buckmark, and she loves it. It has maybe 5000 rounds through it, and I've never taken it apart to clean. Just a bore snake, and a liberal spraying of G96 and wiping what I can reach. I see no reason to take it apart. I don't know how. lol!

I have one . I like the finger groove grips, FO front sight really works well for me. For cleaning i have never taken it apart just bore snake and clean what I can reach.

That all the manual tells you to do.
