Browning Buck Mark Classic Semi-Auto .22LR Target

I had a Buckmark Target for a couple of years before trading it off.

For a "Target" model accuracy was ho-hum at best. Not as good as a Ruger 10/22 Target or a Thompson Center. Trigger pull wasn't too bad. It was better than the Ruger not as good as the TC.

It had moderate look cool factor, was a fun plinker and completely reliable but the open design of the slide tended to pepper you with burnt powder with some ammo types. Remington Yellow Jacket was very bad for this as was some CCI ammo. Make sure you adhere to the warning about not putting your face too far forward otherwise you'll get whacked by the slide.

The other interesting fact about these rifles is the stock is easily removed but on my rifle at least when removed the rifle was under the legal overall length.

It wasn't a rifle I was sorry to see go.

I think I'm ordering one in the morning, unless I get some more negative feedback. I hope I won't be sorry. I guess I could sell it if I don't like it. Does anyone know what height of weaver rings I would need to put a 40mm scope on this unit?

I have had one for 3 years now and for the most part really like it. It is a very good looking rifle IMHO. I originally bought it because it was light and I wanted to get away from my 9lbs target rifles. Its is really light, I must say. As far as accuracy goes, its not that great. It is definately not a target rifle. A lot of people on Rimfire Central were saying the thin barreled Browing Buckmark out shot the heavy barrel every time although I don't have first hand experience with that.

In the end, it is one of my favorites and I've even (last week) turned down an offer from a friend at the range who wanted it.
