I'm currently in the process of a prospective trade, the value of my items being $300 firm.

Would a black Browning buckmark camper, which I'm told is in good condition, and am waiting for pictures, satisfy the value in this trade? I'm new to this sport and hope the community can help out. The firearm will come with a plastic case, lock, and one 10rd magazine.

Any opinions on this handgun are welcome as well. Also, if anyone has any reason why I should choose an old model Ruger single 6 .22 single action revolver over the semi-auto handgun, please let me know. I would love a revolver, but I only have a bolt action rifle, and I think I'm craving the bangbangbangbang of a semi instead of a #### after squeezing each one out, if you catch my meaning.

Anyways, thanks in advance, this community has been good and helpful to me since I started here recently, I hope it keeps it up :) ill hope to contribute once I have the know how.

I'd take the three screw single six without a second thought, but I like single actions. The "old models" have been discontinued for quite a while now, nearing collector status. If it hasn't had the safety update, it's more desirable.

Some people just don't have the patience for a single action, and don't like them.

$300 is in the realm of fair for a Buckmark pistol. They are a nice .22 pistol.

If you are really lusting after a semi-auto, then go for it.

Have you tried the other one? Being in the market for a while, both guns have relatively good reputations. And depending on the condition, I would say it's a win-win for both parties.

I like your response more then Jahred's :p

I am lusting after a semi-auto and I don't think an AWESOME single action revolver (however cool that is) can contend with this unfortunately. I've been patient with the bolt action .22 that I think I deserve a semi :)

So I guess it's the semi auto since value's match up nicely. I hope I don't eventually regret the single action...

Just make sure that the condition is acceptable to you. You can always decline the trade upon seeing the firearm. Check the web for resale price and decide.

I think the value on it may be a little high. Blued or stainless? The blued one retails for just over $300, but I don't know the availability of them.

I had an inquiry a month ago and I was told Browning is behind in production. In fact, the dealer I asked cannot commit to anybody who wanted to order a Browning firearm. They will sell whatever they get. I was interested in the Browning Buckmark Contour 5.5" or 7.25" and it looks like no other dealer in Canada has these pistols in stock. Lower model Buckmarks seems to be available in most dealers.

The Camper goes for between $300-$350 retail (depending on the dealer) new in the box. It's an excellent .22lr pistol (I used to have one). Depending on how much the Camper has been shot, you might be making a good deal for $300 trade value.
