Browning Buckmark or a Ruger 22/45?

I have both and the Ruger stays in the safe way more often than the Buckmark, not sure why, they both work and shoot straight, I just like the buckmark better.

I just recently bought a Buckmark. It was a Ruger or the Browning.

I liked the feel of the Buckmark better and I like the looks.
Both are very good guns so IMO it is just a matter of which one feels better or looks better to you.

I'm the opposite...I liked the Ruger better. I would suggest trying out the Mk III compared to the 22/45 though...I found the 22/45's thin grip a bit strange in my hand.

My Choice was the Buckmark
I was looking at the 22/45 at gander Mt one time down south, In pictures it looks great but in the hand its a different matter for me anyways. I didnt like how the grip was so light, sure it is well built but not for me balance wise. Mrkiii is a good one too but the angle of the grip would cause it to twist in my grip.

So the buckmark was the winner for me. Solid frame, 1911 style grip, nice lines, decent balance plus i got mine used its a standard slabside which only cost me $300 in like new condition. Ive owned quite a few different 22s now trying to make my decision and the buckmark isnt going anywhere. On a side note i tried out the countour, Its just like mine but has a much cleaner look
Not so sure i like the new grip frame though.

Only downside to the buckmark its hard to dissasemble, so i often end up using a sqirt of brake clean and tooth brush which does the job anyways. The Ruger has that cool strip leaver on the back no tools needed.

Mind you i still have no regrets on my purchase, but hey who knows you may get the buckmark and decide you wanted the ruger, what i like doesnt really matter that much really.

I just sold my Mark I and if taking the 22/45 apart is the same as the Mark I then it's abit of a pain, at least for me it was. I shot it a few time at the range and has been in the safe since.

I prefer my 422 and soon will be testing out my new Sig P226 Classic 22.

Good luck

The 22/45 has a very thin grip. Maybe try the Mark III unless you are willing to modify the gun.

I have a 22/45 and I've done a few mods on mine to increase reliability, comfort and ease of use/cleaning. I am very pleased with it now and would not trade it for anything. :)

i was shopping just a couple of months ago- tried the 22/45. and the buckmark- the buck was WAY too heavy for my tastes- the 22/45 was heavy too, and way overpriced at 630- ended up with a beretta NEOS 4.5 inch- it's not everybody's choice, but i found the balance was perfect for me and it was xtremely ambi- shoots like a dream as well

Sig P229 Classic 22lr. I've had several .22 pistols and the Sig is awesome. Check out Questar.
