Ok. This is my first Browning Buckmark rifle. I want to strip it down for cleaning but I can't for the life of me find any information or videos about taking the slide apart. The manual sugests only to clean the barrel and scrub the bolt face with a brush when it gets dirty.

Now I asume it strips down the same as their Buckmark pistols.. seeing as it was made from their pistol design, however I don't want to pull it apart only to realize something is different and I can't get it back together again. Any help?

I'd follow the the Browning Instructions to the letter when I went to detail my Buckmark it did not go well with springs taking flight, so now just what the docs say should be sufficient

I didn't have too much difficulty finding strip down videos. I prefer to clean the internals once in a few hundred rounds or so. It can get pretty grimey in there. The only spring that can get out of hand is the recoil spring. There is a tiny c clip holding it on the rod. I pinched mine with needle nose pliers an it's not been an issue. Removing the slide makes it easier to get the bolt and breech face clean, and also the feed ramp.

If it comes apart like the pistol videos that's fine. Then I have something to follow. I just wasn't sure if it was the same procedure for the carbine rifle. I've shot about 400 rounds through it and so far I've only cleaned the barrel and scrubbed the bolt face with a brush.

The manual for a cleaning tear down is useless.

I would not take the barrel off as that bolt that secures it to the frame can come loose after repeated removal also the sight top star lock nut starts to wear and not hold after awhile if they use it on the rifle..

Yea. Don't plan on taking the barrel off. I don't see the need to plus that would require taking the foregrip off which seems useless to do in all honesty. Not sure what the star lock nut is but the top rail has three set allen bolts holding the rail on, where looking at the pistols I only see two bolts.
