Anyone have one of these? Even though it's a target rifle, can you shoot high velocity ammo out of this gun? Is it ok to do so? I had a ruger 10/22T, and it was not to be shot with any high velocity ammo. So It said in the owners manual. I would like a target gun that can be used for hunting and punching holes in paper. I have a chance to pick up a Buckmark Target with the short bull barrel. Any one have any pro and cons about this rifle. Also are there any semi auto target models that will shoot high velocity ammo without doing any damage over time.

Thanks tikka

You can shoot high veloctiy ammo through just about anygun including the Buckmark and the 10/22T. You just can't (shouldn't anywa) shoot hyper velolcity rounds like the CCI stingers. It won't fully go into a target chamber and probably wouldn't be that safe either.

The only gun I have that I don't shoot High velocity amm through is my Winchester 52D custom which has one of the tightest chambers .22lr chambers in the world, if not the tightest, (the winchester 52D chamber).

Even through my Valmet Finnish lion, which has a much shorter and tighter chamber than a 10/22T or a buckmark i have fired high velocity rounds.

I had two BM rifles...a target and a sporter. (Still have the sporter..best gun made IMO)

Anyway, they will feed anything you put in them....but:

I had an issue with the extractor while shooting the agila hyper-speed-makes-stingers-look-wimpy ammo....as in it threw the extractor right out of the gun!

Mine prefers the high velocity loads, right up to velocitors. As soon as you go hyper velocity the accuract goes all to crap (as with all rifles I've tried)
