Today I bought a Browning Double Auto that came with two barrels. One barrel is marked as full by the single * but the second barrel is marked OS**. Does anyone have an educated guess or opinion?

Nope, no educated guess, but I will offer this.
Have you gone to the Browning Web site and looked for some information there first?
Someone here (after me of course) could offer an educated guess as well, but will you know it is true or false?
BTW, I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Hence my rational thinking this early afternoon.

Most brownings I have seen follow this

* designates full choke (F).

*- designates improved modified choke (IM).

** designates modified choke (M).

**- designates improved cylinder choke (IC).

**S designates skeet (SK).

*** designates cylinder bore (CYL).

INV. designates barrel is threaded for Browning Invector choke tube system.

INV. PLUS designates back-bored barrels

Some of the old markings weren't very accurate. The chokes may have been modified by previous owners. The only way to tell for sure what you have is with a bore mic.
