Would like to casually shoot more trap/skeet and probably wouldn't get out more than a few times per year. So I didn't want to break the bank.

A coworker sold me his father's Citori Lightning for $1100. The barrel is 26" and came with 4 chokes. The serial number dates it to 1989, he claims it was taken out hunting 5 times and only shot twice. It looks completely mint.

Is there anything I should look out for or need to know about it? Was this a good deal?

I'd be very happy to grab that for $1100 . If its got a low round count make sure you keep the action greased up to prevent Galling on the fore end iron and receiver. Enjoy your new Browning

You got a great deal, for a gun in mint condition with screw in chokes. Fair market value would be at least $1500-$1600, and some bring as much as $1800.

Congrats! Wish I have a good coworker.
Just curious, where to find these used B guns? Most websites don't have them.

Thanks everyone!

What do you recommend as a grease? I have only ever had hoppes 9 oil on my guns so I'm fairly new to the o/u action
A really boring answer a perazzi trained gunsmith says.

“The best grease is the one that is on your gun”

CMD is very good in hot weather but STOS is nice stuff that isn’t messy. The container the grease is in is just as important.

Just about any grease you can buy from crappy tire will do the trick. And don’t forget to remove the chokes at least twice a year, clean them and apply some grease on them also. If you don’t you will be back on CGN asking how to remove stuck chokes.

I used to use STOS, but I switched to Permatex Multi Purpose Synthetic Grease , since it works as well, but is .much cheaper, and is available locally. For chokes, Antiseize works .much better than Grease.
