Browning Gold Hunter

Hey guys, I am considering purchasing a Browning Gold Hunter 28” 12ga. Just wondering if there is anything that I should be checking for in particular and what would be considered a fair price. It appears to be in very good condition on the outside, no dings, scratches, etc.

Had a 12 for many years still have a 20,pretty fool proof keep them clean and they work very well.

I’ve owned a couple and nice guns. The piston springs have been known to break so worth checking.

I own one in 20ga, never a problem.

As long as it has been cleaned and looked after it's a great shotgun.

If it's camo make sure it's not sticky. Make sure you clean the gas piston. I've seen some so packed with grease they wouldn't cycle

I’ve owned 10 or so different Golds over the years, my favorite semi by far as I’ve just always shot them well. Followed by its sister gun the Winchester SX3

I had an early Gold and it had the same problem with the shell lifter warping as the Beretta 391's did at the time.

I picked one up in the early spring to try out.
So much handier than a pump.
As a bonus , they are cheap.

It probably was a steel issue in the Beretta as the replacement lifters didn’t look much different. They did seem to deal with the problem fairly quick as the subsequent guns didn’t have the problem and went on to have a great reputation for reliability.

I got a Browning Gold 3.5" years ago for my birthday. It's performed very well for me over the years, though I don't get to put it to use as much as I would like.
