I was impressed by the video demonstration of the Browning Gold shotgun on Browning's website. http://www.browning.com/products/flash/firearms.asp

Yet on another firearms site, some were saying they were jam-o-matics. Others on the site claim they are very reliable if properly cleaned.

I would be interested in your thoughts on reliability and on the recoil reduction of this model compared to a pump.

Thanks!

I have a Browning Gold Fusion. Brand new this summer. Took her out of the box, stripped it down. Cleaned it, oiled it and have only shot trap loads out of it all summer. No jams, no failure to feeds. Cycles reliably. Very soft shooting. Very accurate. Very light while still being very soft shooter. I LOVE the speed feed. Mag tube cutoff is a good idea although I have no reason to use it just target shooting.

They come with 5 choke tubes, a small bottle of lube (I use CLP instead) and a hard lockable plastic case. Wood is very nice. They take down very easily and clean up nice.

I would give it an enthusiastic thumbs up.

Thanks Zen, that's good to hear!
I figured they were good guns, just wanted to check.

Who did you buy it from?

If I had more thumbs I would give it more!! The only one I like better is the SX2 Sporting. The SX and the Gold are the same gun with a few mostly cosmetic differences. Cycled with everything I put in it and shot like a dream with 7/8 oz loads.

I do not own one and never tried one but I was standing in a gun shop when a customer brought a new one back because it was jaming. Now if you want feed back on the 2 brand new 11-87's I owned then there is not enough time in a day to write about my bad experiences with them.

I do not think that there is an auto made where every one is free of fault. Some are fewer than others and some are more than others.

11-87s? There are two type of 11-87s that exist. Ones that never have a serious problem and their owners swear by them and the other kind that always have problems and their owners swear at them. 11-87s seem to be more of the latter.

I bought from SIR. They were in stock at the time and it took about 10 days to get to my house. My suggestion would be to try Lebaron first. Had much faster delivery from them. A bit cheaper I think too. Of course everyone has their favorite place to shop. You won't be sorry.

Don't forget about the rebate too. Money back is never a bad thing.
