I recently purchased a NIB Browning Hi Power standard model with two 10 round magazines and I'm finding it almost impossible to load the 10th round in either. Rounds 1-9 load easily, but I feel like I'm going to break my finger loading the 10th sometimes. Any suggestions on how to loosen up the springs?

For reference, these are factory 10 round mags with the plastic spacer at the bottom and the "rat-trap" spring on the back side. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

The same goes for the magazines for the .40 version. An UpLULA loading tool really makes it easier.

Had the same problem with my P226 mags. What i did to solve the problem was to store them fully loaded. It took a while but the springs eventually loosened a bit.

When mine came they where the same way. I loaded them up and left them sit that way whenever i had them stored between range trips. After 6 months or so they lightened up a bit and have stayed that way ever since.
