Does anyone have any sugestions on how to smooth out or slightly lighten the trigger pull on a newer practical handgun? I dont want to spend a fortune on a lot of work, but would like a bit of improvement. I have an inglis hp as well and it has had a bit of use, and cycles smoother. Can a gunsmith just lighten the pull and smooth out the trigger assembly for a resonable price, and is their any reason to have to alter the mag safety? Thanks for any help

I was looking for the same answers a while ago and found a number of site that gave info - unfortunately I didnt keep the addresses - do a search -as to the mag safety, depends - it is a bit of a pain, especially in IPSC being unable to close the slide after removing the mag - obviously someone thought it a good feature. I decided to leave mine alone.

If you want to shoot IDPA, the mag disconnect will have to remain in place.

If you choose to leave it in, polish the face of the plunger and polich the forward section of the mags where the plunger rides.

If it's for IPSC or plinking, just remove it.

Change the hammer spring to a 26lb'er.

You could also change the trigger return spring for a lighter one too.

To smooth the trigger out cheaply, shoot it. Triggertime is always good.

Cylinder & Slide make new sears, hammers, and the slide mounted sear trip lever. They are available in Brownells. Just be careful. The BHP is probably the easiest gun to accidently turn into a machine pistol.

The parts have to be fitted and the slide will have to have another retaining pin hole drilled for the sear trip lever.
