I have recently acquired a light 12 Browning shotgun (Belgium ) in not bad shape. I have fired it and it works fine. Are there any experts who know about this gun?

I've owned several - Light Twelve, Magnum Twelve and current a Light Twenty. Only one I haven't had yet is a 16ga. Great guns.

What do you want to know?

One thing. The forearm is prone to cracking. Loosen the mag cap so the forearm is loose, for storage so the wood can expand and contract. Mine is left super loose in the safe so when I pick it up I notice it. I have a Sweet 16 and a Light 12

The forearm is prone to cracking from shooting heavy loads with the ring adjustments set for lighter loads. Storage will not cause the crack you refer to.

Regardless of what everybody says, the forearms crack. And yes it can be from humidity and from way too heavy loads.

Use the proper ring settings when shooting heavy vs light and loosen the forearm cap screw when storing. Contraction and expansion can split them when the cap is too tight. I’ve seen them where the cap is almost impossible to get off, that’s from expansion of the wood, nobody used a monkey wrench and super glue when tightening it.

Only thing I haven't found help with is finding barrels. I got screwed bad on a deal and ended up with a magnum with a ordinary barrel and can't not find a magnum barrel any where. I wanted one for 50 years and then got took by a supposed person who claimed he never did a dishonest thing in his life.
