Browning manufacturing info.

You have to be more specific... different models were made in different runs, over different spans of time... some are still made in Belgium... pump guns were moved to Japan around 1973, the Auto-5 production was moved to Japan in 1976... others earlier and later. JMB and custom shop shotguns and rifles are still made in Belgium, most others are at the Miroku plant, and unfortunately, some are being assembled in Portugal.

Awesome that is very informative. I am particularly interested in BLR lightweight 81' chambered in 308 win. and 270 win.

Those were never made in Belgium to my knowledge. Blr production was moved to Japan in the early 70's I believe. The 81 came out in.....you guessed it.....1981. The long actions (.270 etc) came well after that.

That makes sense. I didn't think about that. I was wrong to say the 81. I just noticed that the only ones on cabelas website with straight grip were 81. To correct myself i am interested in BLR rifles chambered in 270 win and 308 win with straight grip that were made in Belgium? I believe it was moved somewhere else in the mid 70's?

They never chambered them in .270 until recently. .270 was never made in Belgium,The last Belgium made blr was in 72 I believe. I believe pistol grip offerings are more recent and in the Lightning line. Somewhere around 95ish they started.
