I'm a little surprised no one has started a thread on this yet. Browning has reconfigured the BAR into a straight pull manual bolt action. The bolt is pulled back manually to #### the action and eject the expended round, but uses the semi-auto's return spring to strip an fresh round from the magazine, and slam the action closed. I'm not a big Browning fan, but this is pretty neat.

Looks like there was a thread on it last year . . .

I like the concept as well and did a small amount of net research on them. The best I could see was that they were only sold in Europe. Then a few months ago I saw one for sale here in Canada but it was in 30-06 which I did not want. That kind of baffled me since if the Maral is intended for the Euro market why would they chamber it in a distinctly American caliber such as the 30-06?

I would love to buy a Browning Maral in 6.5x55 or a 7x57.

Some European countries (I believe France is one) do not allow firearms in military calibers. Maybe the '06 isn't considered a military caliber?

I would think they are available in many calibres in Europe, but when brought here, maybe they only bring the domestic cals?

30/06 is popular the world over... incuding Europe... just not what we normally think of as a "European" cartridge.
