I would not buy a Walther P22 without firing first. They are real neat little pistols but there have been some reliability problems. The one I shot was perfect but I really do not need another 22 handgun. Regards, Richard
I have a P22 & like it alot. My buddy had a Ruger, but I like my P22 better. It is a really small gun! If you can try either gun first, do it! The only thing I can say bad about the gun is that on my gun the locking nut at the end of compensator gets a little lose after 2 or 3 hundred rounds. Also, if you want to hit flys at 25m, my buddies Ruger with a long bull bbl does it. I cant. But since I like to shoot it fast & furious it not an issue with me.
Ditto the comments on the P22 - get a newer version as older versions had lots of reliability issues (and Walther warranty is a pain in the butt to utilize).
Buying a P22 is risky.... go for the BuckMark. If you have your heart set on the P22, then be forewarned. The earlier models had an insane amount of reliability problems. Get one with at least an AD date code.
if you are not in a hurry, why not wait for the Sig Mosquito ? I think I am one of many hoping that the Mosquito will be everything that the first P22s were not - combat-cool looks with actual reliablility and accuracy
all of the newer p22's are just fine, so they are no longer anything to worry about, i just bought one and know 8 people that have them and with american eagle ammo, not a problem to speak of

I shoot a P22 and have put over 10k rounds through it. No major problems but it is starting to get a bit dirty in the corners. Time to do a detail clean (or just a kerosene bath).
