Hi all. Totally new to shotguns. Buddy of mine has one passed down from a grandfather. Have to confirm actual model (think it's citori) but need advice on repair. The buttstock has a large piece broken off the bottom. Looks to big to patch or fill in. Where can I look for replacement? Are there kits or do I have to check EE for parted out shotguns? Should have got pics, will try to get some.

Thank you.

If you aren't too concerned about a visible repair, you should be able to cut away the damaged area and splice in a piece of walnut no matter what the size. There have been some pretty damaged stocks that have been repaired. A lot of times the repair is almost invisible. Where on the stock is the chunk out of it? Is it right at the toe of the stock?

If the gun is in nice shape it may be worth a new, custom, stock.

Otherwise a good gunsmith or stock maker could fix it stronger than new, and with some work and the right finishing products you'd never notice.
