Browning Semi-Auto

First off, it is not a revolver as your photo title says, and it was made in Toronto by Inglis. Your date is about right, October I believe. It is a Canadian Army issue variety and based on the shape, should be pushing $2000. Does have the remains of a decal on the frame that indicated this pistol could be one that was a Lend Lease issued pistol to one of our allies.

All of them had the decal.

Lend Lease was a US program. Canada had the Mutual Aid program.

Nice piece, it's in great shape.
 
If it means anything, I sold a very similar specimen in April at a show for $1600 but I had to take it to several shows to get that price. It would have sold quickly for $12-1300.

Sounds about spot on for value these days.

If I still shot pistol I'd be all over it, the one I carried in Afghanistan was 2T6984. Not too far off.
 
Anyone want to weigh in on what a Belgian Made pre war High power would go for? I figure the serial number lands it at 1937 or so. Not in great shape, but it works.
 
We have not had the chance to take this handgun out yet, it is in very good shape and look forward to taking it out to the range, I've not fired a 9mm personaly.
We were amazed the clip actually holds 14 rounds.

Well in Canada it should only hold 10.

Browning Hi-Power magazines will sometimes be able to squeeze 14 rounds into them particularly when the magazine is becoming worn (many of the ones the military has is able to do this). It will just make it more likely you have a stoppage.

Tyegamic shut up now, get your magazines pinned or modified to hold only 10 rounds. In the meantime disassemble the mags into components to keep them legal. The way your magazines are now makes them PROHIBITED DEVICES.

Also, take the Restricted Possession and Acquisition course before you do or say something else in an ignorant manner that will get you into trouble in a real hurry.

As the executor your are deemed to have a possession license until the pistol is disposed of. I don't believe an Authorization To Transport to or from a range goes along with that.

I'm speaking to the original capacity. Which is 13 rounds. I'm pretty clear on that, having carried one on a couple of tours. Not the tourist kind of tour in case there's any confusion about packing heat on a vacation. I DID unpin my own mags to take though, as pointed out the CF ones can be unreliable. Promise not to tell anyone?

Couple of facts FYI:

Had my RPAL just over what, twenty years now?
I don't presently own any BHPs or mags, sold them a while ago.
I generally like to have my facts straight before shooting off my big dumb mouth.

Hopefully that untwists your panties.

Should have added that IME the Inglis hi powers function best with hot 9mm but I'd hesitate to put much though an original one for fear of cracking the cam pin. The part that runs through the frame that the barrel cams down on. The CF 9mm ammo is loaded hot, the surplus stuff I acquired functioned 100% in my Inglis but commercial WW or the like was hit and miss. Maybe those with more experience shooting them may have a solution but that was my experience. I'd take hit and miss over stressing it.

I see. Your edit to your post explains your confusion.

Clearly the OP is a newb, and his error was addressed in the post above mine. No need to come aboard him in an aggressive manner; politely educating him as Still alive did is the right thing to do. I'm sure he didn't make the mistake to offend you personally, as you seem to have taken it.

Yet, you didn't have the courage or integrity to apologize for addressing me in error in a borderline unhinged post.
