Browning Silver autoloader question

Who shoots the Browning Silver hunter? I am thinking of the 3" standard model with walnut stocks, blued barrel and silver coloured reciever as an all around hunting gun from ducks and geese to upland, coyotes, maybe even a deer barrel if available.

Does this gun perform well, with minimal problems, or is it a dud?

Thanks!

Check out Shotgunworld.com for more opinions on the Browning Silver.
Some have compared the Browning silver to Winchester SX2.
You really can not go wrong if you are looking for an auto loader in either configuration.
Its all about your taste in firearm, tasks you are putting it to and how much spare coin you have.
Then again, you could decide you want to shoot a Benelli or a Beretta ....
Check out Shotgunworld and do some searching there.
BTW, I like my 20 gauge Gold, but first time out on the Sporting Clays it started to act up after 35 rounds, but I contributed it to being first time out ( the gun ) and it being an auto loader.
Cheers,
Rob

I had mine for about 4 years. No complaints. Occasional FTE with cheap winny shells, but no problems with AA.

Only had one fail to load during hunting, but it was on Dec 23 last year and everything was frozen, including the internet favorite, an 870.

Silver Hunter

I own one in Hunter with a 26" barrel and I love it. It cycles everything with ease. My brother and I were skeet shooting with cheap Wal-mart ammo and his Stoeger M2000 was struggling to eject every other shell but the Browning was blasting them through perfectly. I have probably put around 400 cheap 2 3/4" skeet loads and 100 or so 3" Faststeel loads through it and never had a jam. Its also got a really light recoil and I find it fits me perfectly (you may be different). All round great gun, I want to get another in camo with a 28" barrel though because I find I'm more consistent with the longer barrel and you can never have too many! Buy it!!

Silver Hunter 20ga Jamming

Just bought a new 20ga Silver Hunter and have put about 150 rounds thro' it including 100 at a clay shoot today, where it jammed at least once per station...hoping it's the cheap Walmart Win shells or its newness?

Since I posted my first response to the original poster I went and bought the Browning Siver Sporting with 28inch barrel (ported) 2-3/4 shells only and it has had a shade over 150 rounds through it with no failures of any kind.
Dave at the gun store took it in the and ran a cleaning rod down the barrel and a quick shot of some G-96 into the trigger group and I was busting clays (skeet) for the first time 35 minutes later.
No FE, or FF or any other failures. Did I mention I shot Remington STS 1-1/8 and Fiocchi
1 oz, loads with no failures of any type?
The gun fit very similar to my 20guage Browning Gold and is a pleasure to shoot. But, if your next to a ported auto loader, be prepared for some muzzle blast and the occassional bounce of a fired hull.
It is also pretty easy to clean too.
So, Crashman, what did you get ?
Rob

Put 250 rounds through my Silver Hunter the first day I owned it, all cheap sporting clays loads. Even those light loads had no problems, no failures, nothing. Boom, boom, boom. Pretty gun, too! Fits me real nice, eats some of the recoil, swings like a pro. Like the Invector Plus chokes as well.
