A friend of mine just bought a new super lite gold hunter (3.5) and he's getting a few failures to eject. He's put about 200 or so rounds through it now so I'm thinking its broken in. The cheap bulk pack trap load don't cycle at all. His handloads jam probably 1 in 12 and everything else he's put through it (various brands and power including long range) jams at about a couple per box.
Anyone have any experiences with this shotgun?

One other thing. What is the following part called and what does it do? It came out of the mag tube area. Its not on the schematic for the shotgun and the guy at browning doesn't seem to know :)

My Gold ( 3" model) will do that after alot of rounds without a cleaning, I can usually get 300 rounds through it, unless it is raining, then maybe 200.

It iwll also happen if fired from the hip or not snug in the shoulder.

Its been cleaned right after each outing and all shots were fired from shoulder and by several people. What about the piston and area, do you keep it bone dry or oil it lightly?

I oil it and then wipe it dry, or sometimes just clean it. I leave the tube with on ly the slightest film of oil.

Turns out it was just a combination of left in factory grease and too much oil (especially around the piston). After it was properly cleaned and lubed it worked like a charm.
