Opinions and experiences with the T-bolt? I like the straight pull design, looks quick and easy with a flush mount 10 round mag. I really like my 10/22, but want another bolt gun for hunting and to teach the youngin' and her mother.

Would be a ten plus unit, c'ept'in that lawyer'in trigger.

Have one'ere and it is suprisingly accyerate.

The older ones would be my preference as they are usually broke in.
Wartch furr salt wood stain'in awn them older kritters.

I've got one and have to agree about the trigger. Also never seen a magazine for sale on a rack anywhere but haven't made any real effort to find them either. Scared at what the sticker will say.

Should be a nice gun when it breaks in more.

I had 2 modded 10/22s, sold one and bought a green reaper version tbolt, no regrets.....but I still have 1 10/22 lol, really like shooting it, very accurate with cci blazers, not as accurate as the 10/22 with a Kidd barrel & trigger but I didn't expect it to be, trigger is heavy, I beleive there is some vids and info on how to lighten pull if that's what your after, came with 2 mags, I fits in the butt stock (non wood models I think), my only pet peeve is the the little wheel for loading magazines, after 20 magazines your thumb might be a little sore, I have a coupe of bricks through mine so far, no magazine, feeding or ejection issues. Love the dura touch stock.

Picked up a maple t bolt 22lr a couple of years ago, & i agree about the great accuracy & stiff trigger. I got my trigger down to a little over 2 # but with a tiny bit of creep. Once i got used to the light weight of the rifle i shoot it very well. Cci green tag will do less than 1/2 inch at 50 yds but not quite as good with hunting ammo.

i had one in 22wmr and was really happy with the gun except for one thing. if you walk through the woods, carrying the rifle in your left hand(i m a lefty but shoot right handed), the bolt will hook on your thigh and result in a "surprise" open action.

this may not be an issue with most people, but having missed a few shots at game, i sold it and am now debating what to replace it with.

I have 4 in the cupboard, 1 Tupperware and 3 varmint. Nice guns but lousy triggers out of the box. I bought the Jard trigger and have been happy since but considerately poorer. The magazines go on sale, this summer for example but are still very pricey. One hint I cycled the action through a football game to get rid of the “grittiness”.

I had a peek at a new one. I was excited until I tried the action. It was really stiff and clunky. I was hoping for something smooth.
The fit and finish were great as a new rifle should be.
For a bolt gun, you can't go wrong with a CZ 452 with a Yodave trigger kit. I have and love the Varmint, I kinda want an American to go with it.
For a Semi-auto I really enjoy my 10/22 with Kidd heavy barrel, and trigger kit.

I pulled mine out to take another look at the trigger. It was quite crisp with next to no travel or over travel but quite heavy for my tastes.
Did a few minutes research and a quick modification to remove the little plastic shelf that held the sear spring up above the adjustment screw. Now the spring sits right on the adjustment screw or it's barrel so it still has the same upper limit but a lower minimum pressure. I'm guessing it took off about 2lbs.
Very happy with it now and much cheaper than the aftermarket option.

Boy, a photo or two would make all them words more sensible.

I looked at several guides and used the pictures here: http://varminthuntinginternational.########.ca/p/browning-t-bolt-review-and-trigger.html?m=1
As a guide but the actual method from a different source. This fellow bends the spring, I cut down shelf that the stationary end rests on instead.
Hopefully that illustrates the idea as I didn't think to take any photos myself.

I saw a Browning Helix Mag at either Cabelas or Bass Pro in Calgary (Cross Iron Mills) for $80

I have a T-Bolt in .17HMR, synthetic stock with heavy barrel. It is extremely accurate and the straight pull bolt is great for quick follow up shots, especially when gopher shooting. I never really noticed a problem with the trigger, but then again I'm not precision shooting.

Bingo, that's a great info session.
Thanks.
