Browning T-bolt or other?

I have a '60's era one with the original peep sight....great gun! It's from the salty era but no signs of corrosion. The stock must have come from the top of the pile.:d

Ya I've got a 10/22 with a Dlask barrel etc, love it lots of fun. I was mulling over the CZ, Savage and Ruger American when I stumbled on the T-bolt and got curious, hence my post.

I have had several T-Bolts over the years, and while I like them fine after a little trigger work, I would recommend you go with a CZ 453... cheaper than the T-Bolt + trigger, and every one I have had was more accurate too. It is a larger and heavier rifle, but ergonomically designed and handles very well... and will not require trigger work.

I had a peek at a new one. I was excited until I tried the action. It was really stiff and clunky. I was hoping for something smooth.
The fit and finish were great as a new rifle should be.
For a bolt gun, you can't go wrong with a CZ 452 with a Yodave trigger kit. I have and love the Varmint, I kinda want an American to go with it.
For a Semi-auto I really enjoy my 10/22 with Kidd heavy barrel, and trigger kit.

^this. (minus the 10/22 endorsement :) ) I like the idea of the T-Bolts, but the ones I've handled (admittedly, not shot) didn't prove to be any threats to my credit card. Something about the stiffness of the action, the price, the lack of "buzz" about them..just keeps them off my radar personally. I'm also of the firm belief that the best value/accuracy comes in the form of a CZ452 or as hoytcannon suggests, the 453 with it's superior, set trigger. I currently have a 452 Varmint in 22, and a BRNO 2E in 22 as my offhand shooter...but like Sakoman .308, the idea of an American is very appealing too. The Tikka/Ruger Precision news in recent weeks might push-back the 452 American plans another year until I see what all the fuss is about, but almost every 452 I see pop-up in the EE is a temptation nonetheless. The only downside to so many that pop-up privately is that they've magically increased in value by $200+ vs. new ones...which you can still find. I think they'll end-up as collectors, but that day hasn't come yet. (in my opinion)

I looked at several guides and used the pictures here: http://varminthuntinginternational.########.ca/p/browning-t-bolt-review-and-trigger.html?m=1
As a guide but the actual method from a different source. This fellow bends the spring, I cut down shelf that the stationary end rests on instead.
Hopefully that illustrates the idea as I didn't think to take any photos myself.
Here is a picture with explanation of what I believe he is referring to:
