I'd lean towards a Browning today, as I've not owned one before. Ultimately, a Winchester but a 62 (s,l,lr )

I keep hearing that song "did you ever have to finally decide..." playing in my head!

I prefer the exposed hammer of the 1906...but the action on the trombone is so ridiculously simple, you have to like it.

as mentioned above, external hammers are cool.

Love my .22's, and really enjoyed my pumps... I'm selling off my 1890 (EE), sold my Marlin 20A, am working on a Rem 12C, and love shootin' my Rossi (avatar). I have only tested a trombone. All are super-fun!

And now that I think of it 41 Colt - I bought it from you. Thank you. It was an excellent deal, the rifle is in great shape and the bore pitting you mentioned was not as bad as I thought - it is ridiculously accurate, much better than my Ruger SR-22 and almost as good a tack driver as my Norinco JW-14 (which shoots 1/2 in groups at 50 yards with Federal bulk)

Hmmmm, have a couple Brownings and they are really sweet, one of my favorites. But looks like a Winchester is in order.

You will likely have better luck finding a Browning Trombone in nice condition than a Winchester. One Trombone I have from the early 1930's (might be late 20's) is mint!

For fear of damaging it, got a second one in almost as good condition, but with a couple little marks, so if someone added an extra tiny mark or two I wouldn't worry as much.

Actually, having had a good look - I will stick with my trombone as it is a much prettier firearm. If I'm gonna splash on a Winchester it will probably hafta be a lever gun.

I missed it so much I bought another recently even though I'm moving soon and have no $$$ to spend on guns. This one is even nicer, hopefully it shoots as good as it looks. Seems so much sleeker than my 1906 & 1890, lighter too.

If you're looking for a vintage 22lr pump... The Savage are also worth a look.
(And they're usually cheaper than the Winchester/Browning)
