Browning Wicked Wing Semi Auto potential issues

Hi there. Not sure if this is normal or not, but when I take apart my gun for cleaning there is always burn marks on the magazine where the gas piston sits. I’ve attached pictures. I just find it hard to believe this is the intended design. The stainless steel is stained black by the burn marks. Any advice is appreciated.

Actually I can’t figure out how to post a pic. Bummer.

I had a Maxus Stalker that did that along with a Winchester SX3 and SX4. Perfectly normal. I just cleaned the area where the "burn" marks were left with some G96 and 0000 steel wool at the end of the season.
