Browning X-Bolt chambered in 270 wsm with Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50= overkill?

Here's the deal. I work with a company that allows me to get a vortex product for a smokin' deal. I want te Viper PST 4-16. Should I up the rifle caliber?

Why up the caliber ?
270 WSM will knock over anything your legally allowed to hunt.

Sounds potent to me. I just bought another 270WSM back in Decemeber...used mint Sako m75ss 270WSM. Just got the scope couple weeks back from P & D Enterprises when they had a clearance sale on demos Leupolds.....mine was no demo...new in box, just box was damaged. Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 with BC reticle for a smokin price.

That scope will be very nice. I have a hs 4-16x50 it sits on my 223. Very nice scope.
